Disable Chrome PDF Viewer

If the instructions in the Newer Versions of Chrome do not work, please scroll down and follow the instructions in the Older Versions of Chrome section.

Newer Versions of Chrome

Step 1

Open a new Chrome browser and type chrome://settings/content into the Omnibox. Hit the Enter key.

Step 2

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the pop-up window. Check the Open PDF files in the default application setting and click the Done button.

Step 3

Return to the data room and click on any PDF document to open. Chrome will download the encrypted document and display it at the bottom of the browser window. Click on the document to open.




Older Versions of Chrome

Step 1

Open a new Chrome browser and type chrome:plugins into the Omnibox. Hit the Enter key.

Step 2

Scroll down until you find the Chrome PDF Viewer section. Click the Disable link.

Step 3

Return to the data room and click on any PDF document to open. Chrome will download the encrypted document and display it at the bottom of the browser window. Click on the document to open.
